Managing your diabetes can be stressful and complicated, and all too often people neglect their self-care because they don’t like dealing with it all. As a Diabetes Managing Coach, I promote mindfulness as a way of coping with the condition. What is mindfulness? Well, let me tell you!

As you can probably tell from the name, Mindfulness is the concept of being more aware of what you’re doing and how you’re feeling. It’s about slowing down, keeping calm and merely being in the moment. It’s used by people with all sorts of conditions, including depression, anxiety, eating conditions, insomnia and, yes, diabetes.

For those with diabetes, Mindfulness lets them break down all the aspects of living with the condition. By focusing on each of these individually, you lessen your chances of making mistakes or developing bad habits which could lead to complications further down the line. It can also help relieve the stress that comes from living with a chronic health condition like diabetes. Studies have shown that mindfulness and proper diabetes management can have a positive impact on your blood sugar levels, so if you’re struggling to get to grips with diabetes then it’s definitely worth investigating!

As a Diabetes Managing Coach, I’m here to help you at every step of your journey with diabetes. I can help you master Mindfulness techniques to make coping with the condition much more comfortable, and with proper nutrition and exercise you’ll feel far less stressed and more in control of your diabetes.
